West Status was tailored to discover reputable ways to emit authenticity in the chaos. We share ways to purely be your elite self, your higher status.

On Friday mornings, we just expose; spilling the tea all over the place.

ONE. Should you really take Collagen every day?

Short answer, fuck yes.

Collagen is like the superhero of proteins when it comes to wellness and skin health.

Just think of it as the glue holding everything together in our bodies – from our skin to our joints and even our hair. As we age (I know, we don’t like to talk about it either), our natural collagen production starts to slow down, and that's where things get interesting.

Studies have consistently shown that supplementing with collagen can work wonders for maintaining that youthful glow we all crave. It's not just about looking good; it's about feeling good too.

Collagen helps keep our skin hydrated, firm, and elastic, reducing the appearance of those pesky wrinkles and fine lines that seem to pop up out of nowhere. Plus, it’s absolutely revolutionary for joint health, keeping us moving without any discomfort or stiffness.

So, if you're looking to stay ahead of aging, adding collagen to your routine is a no-brainer. Trust that your future self will thank you for it.

Here's our favorite daily collagen peptide that currently keeps us moving, being able to acquire the precise portions you need.

TWO. Spice up date night

Talk about spicy - these two date night games lay all your cards out on the table.

THREE. Enhance your sleep quality and quantity

Bon Jovi's statement, 'I'm going to sleep when I'm dead,' unfortunately, proved to be inaccurate.

Quality sleep is the foundation for good health. A healthy body, energetic mind, and good skin are all derived from adequate sleep.

Research has consistently shown that sleep is directly linked to multiple health benefits such as:

  • Improved immune function

  • Better mood regulation

  • Increased energy levels

  • Reduce stress

  • Recharge cognitive performance

Moreover, the quality of sleep allows the skin to glow with the production of collagen, regeneration of new skin cells, and the release of hormones within the body leading to a more youthful complexion.

To clinch a deep and restful sleep, we prioritize a consistent sleep schedule and create a calming evening routine

This includes the detox of electronic devices an hour before bed, setting our preferred alarm clock (the only one effective enough to rouse us in the morning), and engaging in relaxation, meditation, or reading (our current read) to unwind at the end of the day.

My additional favorites for a deep sleep:

Save My Face Pillow - If you are like us, and it's really hard to fall asleep on your back, this is the next best option.

Dermatologists will always say that they can tell which side of your face you are sleeping on more. Side sleeping can compress your face, leading to wrinkles and potentially affecting the surrounding nerves.

This pillow cradles your face, preventing the formation of wrinkles when sleeping on your side.

Gut & Sleep Trio - Provides a three-phase release of melatonin designed to support a natural sleep-wake cycle, the gut health included is just an elevated perk.

Pure Balance Gummies - Offers a straightforward remedy to feel better and ease tension after a tiring day. Take an hour before bed and they can help with relaxation, and turning the stress dial down while creating harmony and balance throughout the body.

*Quick tip - Quantity matters too in regards to sleep. The typical adult requires around 7- 9 hours of sleep per night, complemented by a 20-minute nap in the afternoon to feel refreshed and energized during the day.

FOUR. Being confident without loving my body

At our core, we will always advocate for embracing our most honest and authentic selves, acknowledging that it's perfectly normal you might not have a great relationship with your body in this current season.

And that's okay.

Contrary to popular belief, achieving confidence doesn't always begin with wholeheartedly loving the skin you are in. It’s understandable that there are mornings (or most mornings) when you may not completely love the reflection looking back at you in the mirror.

Here's some great advice on being confident, even when you're not entirely enamored with your body.

FIVE. Debunking all the body exfoliator scrubs

We’ve tried them all.

From the silicone scrubs, durable gloves, and bath mitts - none of them work as well as the Dermasuri deep exfoliating body scrub.

We had a ‘holy shit’ moment in the shower, seeing the dead skin just falling onto the shower floor.

Disgusting, yes. Revitalizing, absolutely.

By gently scrubbing away these dead cells, it helps to unclog pores, prevent acne breakouts, and improve overall skin texture. Additionally, exfoliation encourages cell turnover, promoting the growth of new, healthy skin cells.

Building in this process during your shower routine will leave your skin feeling smoother, softer, and more radiant. Plus, it makes your other skincare products work even better, allowing them to penetrate deeper into the skin for better results

SIX. Interested in a sugar detox?

Here’s how to throw together a dinner plate tonight that's low in carbs and sugar-free.

Simplicity for the win.

SEVEN. Mindful eating with nourishing meals, glow up your diet with more fruits and vegetables

The saying, "You are what you eat”, has never been more true.

This statement emphasizes the strong connection between diet and overall health.

In essence, the quality of our diet plays a significant role in shaping our bodies, minds, and overall vitality.

The NHS provides fast tips that you can start applying today to seamlessly modify your dietary habits.

You can have better food, grown out of the comfort of your own home. Yep, you read that right.

With up to 36 varieties of vegetables, fruits, greens, herbs, and flowers - all growing sustainably indoors from your kitchen. Let's just say the amount of pocket change spent on questionable produce guided a decision to make an environmental and health-conscious switch.

And we are never going back.

The Farmstand delivers fresh harvests to any household, making it accessible to virtually everyone. We wholeheartedly recommend a healthy transition to growing your own produce, a transformation achievable in under two weeks.

Chef’s kiss.

Drink your tea, and enjoy the weekend.
